I selected this photograph because it brought up many thoughts in my mind, I thought about the different ways the public might think about this image both in a the soldiers possible standpoint and the social implications. The number one thought that came in mind when the photo caught my eye was what was the photographer trying to tell us. Was he trying to tell us that us normal citizens can stop war and bring peace. This image points out how one person can make a change to the world by making his point peacefully and nonviolently. Theres many ways to stop violence and this is one. I wondered would anyone be able to stand in the same exact position as George Harris (the man giving flowers) , would anyone be brave enough to stand up to a bunch of soldiers who are holding rifles at him and knowing there is a chance that he could get shot in any second. Seeing what Harris is doing inspired me because he showed me that even though you're small and seem helpless you can always do something big that can start a change. Like the the saying goes it only takes one person to make a difference.
