Joseph Eshagh

Joseph Eshagh
Ansel Adams "Yosemite Valley, Thunderstorm"
1945, Gelatin Silver

I chose this photograph because it inspires me to go out and try things, it shows that one man went into the middle of nowhere with no people, only him and a camera. This photograph literally shows the calm before the storm, it pauses time to show the beauty of the land before it is covered by dark clouds. It shows what many people are unable to imagine, what most people will never go out to see. I picked this image mostly because of the detail that is in it, there is a waterfall to the right and a valley full of trees. The valley seems to go on forever and ever into the storm. Not only that but how long and how many attempts did it take for this man to take this exact image? Did he take it his first time or did he go back countless times to have the weather be perfect for this exact image?
