 Lewis Hine "Empire State Building"

1930

This photo was taken by Lewis Hine who was an American sociologist and photographer who used his photographs to try and help change child labor laws. In this image it shows a young man who is working, but he was working on none other than the empire state building. I picked this image because it shows a pause in something in the making. It shows something that is considered beauty to one person at that moment, but will show many people beauty for a long time to come. This picture shows a pause of a young man at work, what looks to me as a pause of bravery for being so high to make this building. It shows a pause that can be seen from only such a height that makes the world just stops for a moment and lets you capture the beauty of New York City. I picked this image because it does not just shows a pause from that day, but is shows a pause that can be seen every day if you go there.
