Paula Chamlee, "Near Asciano, Tuscany"
2001 - Black and white photograph

This image intrigues me for a few different reasons; the first being I have always wanted to visit Italy and even though I have never been there, I already love it. At first glance I automatically knew this was a picture taken in Italy because of its signature fields and I had to choose it. This field is especially beautiful because the photographer was able to capture the illusion of an infinite field and to me it also looks like sound waves because of the image quality. This photo has texture, depth and looks like the fields are actually rolling like waves; that is something I don't see in a lot of photos today. With that being said, this image makes me think that it is much more complex than it appears a lot like the idea of infinite space and complex structures such as sound waves.
